Driver License & ID Card Requirements:

Effective January 1, 2010 there are now requirements for all Florida residents getting a Florida driver license or ID card. The Federal Real ID Act requires you to bring specific forms of identification when you visit an office to obtain a Driver License or ID card.

If your name has changed and you have not notified the Social Security Administration, you must visit their office to update your records before visiting one of our offices to process your Driver License or ID card transaction. Please allow 1-2 business days for the records to update in the Florida DHSMV database.
